Hi everyone, this is Coach D, and let's talk running back moves. We've all seen it out on the football field—maybe there's somebody cutting up and down the field, they're doing a spin move, they're getting skinny, they're doing an up-and-down. How are they getting those first downs every time, those touchdowns every single time? Well, now you're gonna learn the secrets.

Number one move is let's get skinny. I'm going to set up four cones in a box formation, put a defender right in the middle, and line up my running backs. See how I got skinny there? Basically, I'm getting myself either along the sideline or as the defender comes toward me and they're trying to grab my flag, I am doing that. Now, make sure you don't jump on this—there's no jumping in flag football. They don't like that in most leagues.

That's number one. Number two: let's dip. I'm running, I dip down so they can't get me. You've seen it—as my defender comes, I get low so they can't get my flag. Level two of that: I go up, I go down, I go up, I go down full speed. And make sure they're still running north and south, but they're going up and down.

Number four is burst of speed. Ready, go. At a certain moment, you're kind of dancing with somebody, and then you just burst of speed. That's a burst of speed.

And what about the proper spin move? When I do a spin move, I'm gonna plant my feet, do a shake, and then cut toward the defender, and then spin away from them and run. I'm spinning away so as they try to grab my flag, it goes away from their hand.

And again, just our classic cutting. All right, couple key principles—please don't make too many moves right as you go. You don't want to make too many moves. If you're spinning and then cutting and then just dancing around, you're not moving forward, and it allows more defenders to come and get you. Does it make sense?

Another thing is some of my fastest running backs love to go out of bounds. There's no reason. The second level of this is teaching your running backs not to go out of bounds. I'm coming this way, I've got a defender coming in, I can get skinny and move, right?

So those are some great running back moves to help you get more first downs, score more touchdowns, so make sure you get some this season. This is Coach D. If you like what you see, subscribe and then like, comment, and share. We'll see you in the next video. Take care.
